New media pioneer, Brian Laramie, spent much of the early 1990s creating experimental digital works before becoming Senior Designer for Quark. He helped promote and develop Quarkâs multimedia authoring tool, designing its online presence as well as producing demos and interactive works for third-party early adopters. Brian then accepted a role with the corporate marketing communications team at Sun Microsystems where his primary functions were to redesign their web properties and to develop graphic and user interface standards. In addition he designed for corporate video and print marketing collateral. After a stay as Creative Director for the international advertising giant, Publicis Groupe, Brian chose to follow his independent spirit working as a freelance designer before he and his wife, Tanya, founded Sight8. Today, he continues to develop a unique combination of creative vision and technological know-how as the creative lead at Sight8.
Tanya Laramie began her design career in the media department at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. Her work included posters, brochures, local and national newspaper and magazine advertising, annual reports, displays and signage, as well as a quarterly magazine with an average circulation of 100k per issue. In 1996, she served as a member of the telecommunications committee and was influential in the development of the Center’s first-generation web site. After relocating to the Bay Area, Tanya took a position as the in-house designer at Silicon Valley software company, Talus Solutions, where she coordinated with marketing, sales, product groups, and vendors to design and produce marketing communications collateral. At Sight8, Tanya manages our client relationships throughout the design process, ensuring milestones are met and work is delivered on-time and on-budget. She has received recognition as a writer and helps refine messaging.
